本會為依法設立、非以營利為目的之社會團體。本會的宗旨如下：提高眼科醫學之水準，促進其教育、訓練與研究，探討國人致盲因素，推動防盲醫療保健之道，以提升國人之視覺保健，發展公共衛生眼科醫學，並配合世界衛生組織或其相關國際組織之防盲教育訓練研究活動。

TAPB is a non-profit social organization. Our objectives are as follows: to enhance the standard of ophthalmology, promote its education, training, and research; to investigate factors leading to blindness among the populace, advocate for preventative eye healthcare, and improve the vision health of our people; to advance public health ophthalmology, and collaborate with the World Health Organization or its relevant international organizations in activities related to blindness prevention education, training, and research.
